HIP HOP WORLD AWARDS

The maiden edition of Hip Hop World Awards held at The Muson Centre on Saturday, March 10, 2006. The staging of the world class award brought the entire entertainment industry to a standstill, as everyone who witnessed and was part of it could not believe that a spectacular show of that nature could happen in Nigeria, with Nigerians as organizers. 2006 was the beginning of the revolution and the moment the curtains were drawn on the masterpiece we pioneered, expectations for the next award ceremony hit fever pitch with many looking ahead to be part of the follow up.

We dared you to miss the 2007 Hip Hop World Awards and those who did still relieve the pain of not being there. The awards’ was taken to another level, strengthening the aura of the maiden edition. It was held at same venue as the first, but this time with more colour, ceremony and fanfare. Expectedly, commendations poured in from admirers who were blown away with the interesting show we put up but because we believe we can do more, we are not deluged into thinking the best can’t get better. Though there has been a surge in the number of awards ceremonies in the country today, we humbly and confidently say none is yet to measure up to the standard Hip Hop World Awards has set.

Change was changed at the 2008 Hip Hop World Awards’ attendees are still basking in the euphoria of the whole glitz and glamour that dazzled them. It was kick started with the nominees party which took place at Babylon island with enough drinks, food, music and fun to last a lifetime and the awards proper saw the audience bedazzled by the customized rich yellow carpet, the stage, performances, gold plated plaques and it will be a crime to omit the till date talk about after party.
